The Falls Lake Firebirds stacked  a  ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Raleigh Charter 53-22 on the road. Given Falls Lake's advantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 108th, while the Phoenix are ranked 470th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Emerson Thompson was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 19 points and 12  rebounds. Thompson is crushing the  rebound category: she's  posted at least ten every time she's  taken the court this season.  Khloe Massengill was another key contributor,  scoring 12 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals.
 Falls Lake's victory was  their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 21-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Raleigh Charter, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 5-8.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Unicorns at 6:00  p.m.  on February 6th. NCSSM: Durham will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Raleigh Charter, they will head out on the road to  take on  the Eagles at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
