The Stillwater Pioneers waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 30-20 victory over Muskogee. That's another feather in the cap for Stillwater, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stillwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Acord, who rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 211 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Talon Kendrick was another key contributor, gaining 105 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Muskogee still got an impressive performance from Jamarian Ficklin, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 245 yards and a touchdown while completing 74.1% of his passes. Ficklin has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Stillwater's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.64 points. As for Muskogee, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.
Stillwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Muskogee also has no future games currently scheduled.
