Reseda (Calif.) nabbed the lead on an
Andrew St Julian touchdown pass to
Chris Ahmed with 1:00 left in the fourth quarter to upset
Jefferson (Los Angeles, Calif.) 63-57 on Saturday.
The Regents led 57-1 at halftime, but the Democrats regained the lead on a touchdown pass by
Manny Vargas to
Noel Taylor with 7:00 left in the third.
Reseda expanded its lead to 63 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Vargas touchdown pass to Taylor.
Victor Presilla was the top performer for the Regents. He kicked eight extra points.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Reseda, which was coming off a 20-13 defeat at the hands of Locke in its previous game.
Jefferson (0-2) will play a non-conference game against Gardena next week, while Reseda (1-1) will take on Cleveland also in a non-conference game.
