The Immokalee Indians were the 55-30 winner over the Island Coast Gators when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Immokalee took a 54-38 bruising from Island Coast on Monday. Immokalee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Island Coast was led to victory by Samarrah Desir and Aubrey Curry. Desir scored 19 points, while Curry scored 17 points along with five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Desir has scored at least a third of Island Coast's points. Janeze St. Fort was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five steals.
Immokalee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Island Coast, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Immokalee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Estero at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Estero is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Island Coast, they will head out on the road to square off against Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
