Basketball Recap: Central Jersey College Prep's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Central Jersey College Prep came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over the Thomas Edison Energy Charter Tigers on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Central Jersey College Prep considering their 29-point performance the game before.

Central Jersey College Prep found their leader in sophomore Carter Staton, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 22 points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Javan Edmunds, who posted seven points and five boards.

Central Jersey College Prep's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Thomas Edison Energy Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Central Jersey College Prep will face off against College Achieve Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Edison Energy Charter, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Central Jersey College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on February 18th.
