The Iowa Colony Pioneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Columbia 105-56 at home. Iowa Colony has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 23 points or more this season.
BJ Gill was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Daylen Dalcour, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks.
The victory (which was Iowa Colony's seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.6 points per game. As for Columbia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season.
Iowa Colony will head out on the road to square off against Sweeny at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sweeny focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
