Soccer Recap: Cypress Bay Wins Going Away Against Western

Cypress Bay kept a clean sheet against Western on Monday. They blew past the Western Wildcats 8-0. Considering the Lightning have won six matchups by more than three goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Western from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Paz De Luca led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Cypress Bay is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-1-1 record this season. As for Western, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Cypress Bay will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coral Glades at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Western, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Coral Springs on the 19th.
