The Tidewater Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Southampton Academy. Tidewater Academy has not had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Southampton Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from G Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 23 rebounds. Applewhite hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 18 straight games. H Hurst was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Tidewater Academy dropped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Southampton Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tidewater Academy will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amelia Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 12. As for Southampton Academy, they will play host again and welcome the Knights, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot is ranked 366th, while the Raiders are ranked 358th).
