Softball Recap: Montgomery County Has No Trouble Against Paris

Montgomery County won the last time they faced Paris and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Indians blew past the Greyhounds 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madison Cox was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Zink, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Montgomery County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paris only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory made it two in a row for Montgomery County and bumps their season record up to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Paris, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-9.

Coming up, Montgomery County will square off against Franklin County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flyers have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Paris, they will face off against Bourbon County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
