Woodward Academy's game  last Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. Everything went their way against the Mt. Zion Eagles as the Woodward Academy War Eagles made off with  a  14-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the War Eagles needed considering they were shutout in their previous   match.
  Cymone Woodfaulk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Woodfaulk was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Kaitlin Weeks and  Katie Weathersby did most of the damage at the plate:  Weeks  went 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI, and a  triple, while  Weathersby  scored two  runs and  stole five bases while going 3-for-3.  Maya Aspes was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing five bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Woodward Academy now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mt. Zion, their loss was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Woodward Academy will venture away from home to  take on Columbus  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out to  challenge Coosa  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
