Mooresville has gone 8-2 against Lake Norman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blue Devils will challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Mooresville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Lake Norman likes a good challenge.

Brody Norman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 171 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 41 yards and a pair of TDs. Mooresville's run defense was locked in: Statesville could only muster 0.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Maddox Blackburn for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mooresville's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.3.

Mooresville's defense also made the game a nightmare for the opposing QB, racking up 12 sacks. It was truly a group effort as Charles Sayre, Tanner Finnerty, Aaron Thomas, and David Di Leo picked up two apiece. Finnerty has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 22 times he's played. Blackburn was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Lake Norman entered their tilt with Davie County on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the War Eagles by a score of 23-10.
Lake Norman found their leader in sophomore Kaden Craft, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD, and also threw for 142 yards and one touchdown. The Wildcats also got a significant boost from Jayden Nordtveit, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 113 yards.
Mooresville's record is now 7-2. As for Lake Norman, their record now sits at an identical 7-2.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Norman and Craft. Norman just won't slow down this season and has thrown 25 touchdowns (and and only 4 picks) while averaging 183.6 passing yards per game. Craft has been a dominant force too and has thrown 15 touchdowns (and and only 2 pick) while averaging 158.1 passing yards per game.
Mooresville strolled past Lake Norman when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
