The East Canton Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Strasburg-Franklin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Canton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 639th, while Strasburg-Franklin is ranked 280th).
Last Thursday, East Canton didn't have too much trouble with Central Christian on the road as they won 38-23. The win made it back-to-back wins for East Canton.
East Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Wade, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Rayla Clapper, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Strasburg-Franklin stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Newcomerstown 49-13 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-8.
The victory got East Canton back to even at 7-7. As for Strasburg-Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
East Canton might still be hurting after the 48-23 loss they got from Strasburg-Franklin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can East Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
