Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Mission Oak's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Mission Oak got themselves on the board against Tulare Western on Wednesday, but Tulare Western never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Mustangs. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Taylor Shepherd was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Journee Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Mission Oak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulare Western only posted an OBP of .286.

Mission Oak is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Tulare Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1.

Looking ahead, Mission Oak will venture away from home to challenge Lemoore at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tulare Western, they will host Dinuba at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Emperors at the right time seeing as the Emperors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
