Baseball Recap: Shadle Park Starts Season with Victory at Home

Shadle Park gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They never let the North Central Wolfpack get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. This was payback for the Highlanders, who suffered an 8-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Shadle Park got a great performance from Roland Germain as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Germain a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Evan Lafferty was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Tyler Yarger was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Coincidentally, Shadle Park and North Central will both be playing Rogers the next time they take the field. Shadle Park will host Rogers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while North Central will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
