This season hasn't been kind to the Instituto Health Sciences Phoenix, who are still winless after their fifth match. They took a serious blow against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest on Tuesday, falling 86-25. Instituto Health Sciences lost against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 33-27 score last time.
Horizon Science Academy-Southwest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ahmet Unal led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Unal has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlon Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds.
Instituto Health Sciences dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Instituto Health Sciences will face off against Tilden at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tilden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 last Thursday. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, they will head out on the road to take on DuSable at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. DuSable will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
