Seth Stanton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Fletcher Owens, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lee Park Prep). They put the hurt on North Hills Christian with a sharp 13-2 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the match before.
Brody Adams made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Carpenter, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Isaac Watkins was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Lee Park Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Lee Park Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Grace Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Lee Park Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grace Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Lee Park Prep, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Grace Academy's hitters?
