Deposit-Hancock will challenge the Webster Schroeder Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Deposit-Hancock gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against Delaware Academy as they made off with a 17-1 victory. Deposit-Hancock hasn't had any issues with Delaware Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Ivy Tice was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kadyn Appley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Pagan Macumber was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Webster Schroeder made easy work of Greece Storm on Friday and carried off a 15-3 victory. Considering the Warriors have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Deposit-Hancock, Webster Schroeder also got a great game from a two-way player: Octavia Geglia. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Geglia has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kinsley Keil was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Juliano, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Webster Schroeder hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.
