The 14th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard passed through South Carolina on Wednesday, January 30 to recognize
Dutch Fork (Irmo, S.C.) High School and its football team for winning a state championship and earning a high national ranking.

A back-and-forth battle turned into a second half rout as Dutch Fork upended T.L. Hanna 59-20 in the
SCHSL Class 5A state championship contest. With the win, the 13-0 Silver Foxes claimed their third straight state football title and earned the No. 23 ranking in
MaxPreps' National Rankings!
Dutch Fork stretched a 24-20 halftime advantage into a second half rout when Tyrik McDaniel and Edward Owusu started a fourth quarter scoring explosion with 93 and 11 yard fumble returns for touchdowns respectively. Jalin Hyatt reeled in a nine-yard scoring strike from Tyler Olenchuk and Ron Hoff broke the goal line from two yards out to push the scoring margin to 39 points.
MaxPreps and the South Carolina Army National Guard were on hand to celebrate Silver Fox football at an athletic assembly at Dutch Fork's Field House. MaxPreps representative Kayla Ellenwood kicked off the celebration by summarizing a tremendous Silver Fox football season that culminated in Dutch Fork's fourth state football championship in five years.
As she concluded her portion of the program, Ellenwood introduced Sergeant First Class Mary Cochran of the South Carolina Army National Guard, who spoke briefly about teamwork, readiness, commitment to a cause, perseverance and dedication, all shared character traits of the Army National Guard and a state championship football team. SFC Cochran then presented head coach Tom Knotts and the Silver Foxes with the prestigious Army National Guard national ranking trophy, symbolizing the above mentioned traits. Dutch Fork is one of just 50 football programs nationally that will receive one of the prestigious trophies this year.
