Even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, Life Center Academy still came out on top. Life Center Academy managed a 74-70 win over Varsity Opponent.
Life Center Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mekhi Robertson out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Brown, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds.
Solebury has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 32 points or more this season. They blew past Mastery 65-22 at home. With Solebury ahead 35-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Tyler Simpson, who scored 16 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Joell Idrovo was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Life Center Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Solebury, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's match: Life Center Academy have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.6 threes per game. It's a different story for Solebury, though, as they've been averaging only 5.3 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Life Center Academy beat Solebury 79-66 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Life Center Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
