The Whitesboro Bearcats will face off against the Rains Wildcats at TBD on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Whitesboro rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Tigers 53-29. The win made it back-to-back wins for Whitesboro.
Meanwhile, Rains waltzed into their matchup on Monday with 20 straight wins but they left with 21. Everything went their way against Howe as Rains made off with a 56-36 win. Given Rains' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Howe is ranked 547th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitesboro is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-16 record this season. As for Rains, their win bumped their record up to 32-2.
Whitesboro might still be hurting after the 44-21 loss they got from Rains when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Whitesboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
