The Fairfax Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past South County 30-6. Considering Fairfax has won seven matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
South County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Dennis, who threw for 247 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes, and Tyler Orth who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win was the third in a row for Fairfax, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for South County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Fairfax will head out on the road to face off against Lake Braddock at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Braddock knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Fairfax likes a good challenge. South County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
