On Tuesday, the Lehi Pioneers faced the Lone Peak Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lehi took a serious blow against Lone Peak, falling 64-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lehi has scored all season.
Loss or not, Lehi got some senior leadership from Hadlie Warren and Kinly Faux. Warren scored nine points, while Faux. scored eight points.
Lone Peak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shawnee Nordstrom, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Nordstrom has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naia Tanuvasa, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Lehi's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lone Peak, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Lehi will be playing in front of their home fans against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Lone Peak, they will head out on the road to take on Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Westlake is ranked ninth, while Lone Peak is ranked third).
