4A Tri-Valley recap October 8, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Marion, who took down 97th ranked La Salle, 27-26.
Molalla took down Madras 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Michael Duarte provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Falcons fell to the Huskies. He completed 4 passes for 39 yards and also ran for 127 yards. Duarte's favorite target this week was Duarte, who caught 2 passes for 14 yards.
Brendan Quinn made the biggest impact on defense this week as La Salle fell to North Marion. The 6-foot-0 sophomore grabbed 1 sack.
Duarte was the best running back in 4A Tri-Valley this week. He ran for 127 yards on 16 carries as Tim Bowman's team fell to the Indians. Teammate Nash Lisac added to the ground attack by rushing for 113 yards.
Madras' offense has been unstoppable this season and the White Buffaloes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chad Lindgren has thrown for 530 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Shepherd has 16 catches for 341 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Madras' Shepherd goes up against the Falcons' Jacob Meek.
Next week's game between Richard Wells' team and La Salle will feature a good passing match up as Lindgren will test his arm against Meek's defensive ability.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the White Buffaloes and the Falcons face off next week.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Molalla takes on Gladstone. Kaleb Mitchell's team is currently in third, while the Gladiators are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when La Salle and Madras face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Falcons comes in having scored 72 this season, while the White Buffaloes have scored 84. La Salle scored 26 points last week as it fell to Doug Bilodeau's team.
