The Steinbrenner Warriors will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against BDOMaxPrepsTeamGame at 7:30 p.m. on October 13th.
After soaring to 36 points the game before, Steinbrenner were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were outmatched by Armwood on the road and fell 42-3. While losing is never fun, Steinbrenner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Armwood is ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Palm Harbor University didn't have too much trouble with Sickles on the road two Fridays ago as they won 24-7. 24 seems to be a good number for Palm Harbor University as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Mykehl Boebert was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Boebert is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Palm Harbor University also got a significant boost from Gunner Fodor, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 97 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sickles to a paltry 202 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Palm Harbor University's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Brady Messick and his three sacks.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Palm Harbor University's victory pushed their record up to 5-1, while Steinbrenner's loss dropped theirs down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Steinbrenner against Palm Harbor University when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Steinbrenner since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
