Sacred Heart is a perfect 4-0 against Welsh since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sacred Heart Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Welsh Greyhounds at 5:00 p.m. Sacred Heart will be strutting in after a win while Welsh will be coming in after a defeat.
Sacred Heart made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cecilia, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sacred Heart put the hurt on Cecilia with a sharp 12-5 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Amelia Fontenot made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maci Droddy, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emily Ardoin was another key player, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
Sacred Heart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cecilia only posted an OBP of .355.
Meanwhile, Welsh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Beau Chene, falling 8-1.
Welsh saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Hayes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Sacred Heart and bumps their season record up to 5-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Welsh, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Sacred Heart's way against Welsh when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Sacred Heart made off with a 16-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
