With a playoff game on the line, NELA Christian Homeschool rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They secured a 53-47 W over the Storm. The victory made it back-to-back wins for NELA Christian Homeschool.
Dalton Aulds continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jarod Perrin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Brighton came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against First Baptist Christian on Tuesday and snuck past 54-51. The victory was just what Brighton needed coming off of a 73-37 loss in their prior matchup.
Brighton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reid Williams led the charge by scoring five points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Scott, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
NELA Christian Homeschool's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Brighton, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: NELA Christian Homeschool have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
