After flying high against the South Ridge Mavericks last Thursday, the Alta Vista Charter Lobos came back down to earth. Alta Vista Charter lost to Western SciTech at home by a decisive 45-28 margin on Wednesday. Alta Vista Charter lost against Western SciTech in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-22 score last time.
Several Lobos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lorena Chavez, who scored 10 points. Chavez scored a full 35.7% of Alta Vista Charter's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Julianys Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Alta Vista Charter now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Western SciTech, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ajo the next time they take the court. Alta Vista Charter will head out to face Ajo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Western SciTech will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th.
