The Portland Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portland Christian will be strutting in after a win while Hazard will be coming in after a loss.
Portland Christian will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fairdale, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Portland Christian blew past Fairdale 18-2 on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Eva Hidrogo made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addie Bragg was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Vivian McFarland, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Portland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairdale only posted an OBP of .368.
Meanwhile, Hazard fell victim to Metamora and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 12-0 to the Redbirds. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.
Portland Christian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hazard, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Portland Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .509. However, it's not like Hazard struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
