Lake Forest lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wauconda, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Scouts put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-4 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Scouts sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Andrew Marks looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lake Forest got a big performance out of Bink Hartline, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Hartline a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Lamberti, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.
Lake Forest's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-16. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wauconda, their loss dropped their record down to 19-15.
