McCurdy has won three straight games at home, while Questa has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bobcats will host the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, McCurdy earned a 3-1 victory over Mora.
While McCurdy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mora scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 26-24, 25-21.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Questa sidestepped Mesa Vista for a 3-2 win.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Questa who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-11.
Questa had a senior duo take command as Ariana Medina had 20 digs and six aces and Jocelyne Ortega had 24 digs. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Medina. Joshlyn Medina was another key player, getting ten digs and three aces.
Questa was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.
McCurdy's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Questa, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
McCurdy was able to grind out a solid victory over Questa in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
