The Langston Hughes Panthers stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. Everything went their way against South Paulding as Langston Hughes made off with a 53-33 victory. The win was nothing new for Langston Hughes as they're now sitting on three straight.
Langston Hughes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasmine Baxter led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals. Karrell Greene was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, South Paulding saw an underclassman step up: Chrissy Warner scored two points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.17 points. As for South Paulding, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Langston Hughes will face off against Paulding County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Paulding County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for South Paulding, they will head out on the road to challenge East Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Paulding is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
