Mingo Central extended their winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Bam Coleman. The Miners took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-7 win over the Wyoming East Warriors thanks in part to Coleman, who rushed for 143 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 105 rushing yards per game.

Mingo Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Taegan Hackney, Donavon Valdelamar, and Keziah Joplin picked up one apiece. Hackney has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 13 times he's played. Mingo Central received some extra help from Valdelamar, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Mingo Central, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Joplin, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Wyoming East, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mingo Central will take on Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wyoming East, they will head out to challenge Mount View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Golden Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
