It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Mandarin Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Lake Mary as Mandarin made off with a 36-10 victory. The result was nothing new for Mandarin, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Tiant Wyche was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wyche's longest reception was for an incredible 91 yards. Antoine Belgrave-shorter got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mandarin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Lake Mary, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Mandarin will head out on the road to face off against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seminole is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Mandarin a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Lake Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
