Timnath is 3-0 against the Eagles since December of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Timnath Cubs will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wellington Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Timnath came up short against the Indians and fell 49-39. While losing is never fun, Timnath can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Indians are ranked 44th).
Despite the defeat, Timnath saw an underclassman step up: Max Roselle dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Jacobson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Wellington, who are still winless after their 16th match. They suffered a tough 61-37 loss at the hands of Brush on Friday.
Timnath has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Wellington, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Timnath against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-16 victory. With Timnath ahead 29-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
