Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 58-42 to the Paloma Valley Wildcats. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Justin Jones, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Jones a new career-high.

Ayden Garcia went supernova for Paloma Valley, going 15 for 35 on his way to 23 points and six boards. Erick Fernando was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Paloma Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-41 loss against Perris on the 30th. As for Paloma Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 63-50 defeat against Vista del Lago on the 30th.
