Cavalier and Larimore are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Cavalier Tornadoes will head out on the road to square off against the Larimore Polar Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cavalier comes in on three and Larimore on six.
Cavalier posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Langdon/Edmore/Munich out 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Larimore earned a 52-43 victory over New Rockford-Sheyenne on Thursday.
Larimore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Gratton out in front who scored 18 points along with seven assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that Gratton grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Baron Burns, who scored 15 points.
Cavalier is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Larimore, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Cavalier came up short against Larimore in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 61-48. Can Cavalier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
