Even though the Southland Christian FLAMES scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the Harmony Longhorns still came out on top. Harmony snuck past Southland Christian with a 61-57 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Harmony.
Southland Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Derek Lopez and Michael Pellot. Lopez scored 21 points, while Pellot dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Juan Rios was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Harmony is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Southland Christian, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-7.
Harmony will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Celebration will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 658th, while Harmony is ranked 85th). As for Southland Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Montverde Academy Regional at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
