Dothan is 1-8 against Wicksburg since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dothan Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Wicksburg Panthers at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Dothan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Carver Montgomery on Tuesday as Dothan made off with a 17-1 victory.

Jada Newman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Sasser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Brantlee McCarthy was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Dothan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .870. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wicksburg came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings a 10-0 shutout.
Abbie Ellenburg was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Anleigh Wood, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Dothan's win bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for Wicksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Dothan couldn't quite get it done against Wicksburg when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 8-3. Can Dothan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
