The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-47 win over Calhoun Academy. Winning is a bit easier when you nail six more threes than your opponent, as Andrew Jackson Academy did.
Andrew Jackson Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gage Dicks, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dicks is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Hall Sease was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Despite the loss, Calhoun Academy still got an impressive performance from Chase Strickland, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Thornburg, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Andrew Jackson Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Calhoun Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Andrew Jackson Academy will head out on the road to take on Cathedral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calhoun Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarendon Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarendon Hall is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
