Gila Ridge has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gila Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Red Mountain is ranked 117th).
Last Monday, Gila Ridge had to suffer through a rough 71-40 loss at the hands of Queen Creek. Gila Ridge has struggled against Queen Creek recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Red Mountain beat Maryvale 59-47 on Monday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kwontis Davis, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Davis. Bjorn Molenaar was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Gila Ridge's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Red Mountain, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Gila Ridge might still be hurting after the 64-42 loss they got from Red Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Gila Ridge, Braeden Moore (who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
