The Manchester Red Hawks came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 66-60 win over Enfield. Given Manchester's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Eagles are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Derrick Sheets was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. Jayveon Robinson was another key contributor, scoring no points along with 18 rebounds and four steals.
Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Enfield, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Manchester will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. As for Enfield, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
