Softball Recap: Vilonia Sets Scoring Season-High Against Parkview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vilonia). They never let the Parkview Patriots get on the board and left with a 27-0 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Lynnlee Rowan looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on LaNaya McLaughlin, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Lila Toll was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Vilonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .511 or higher in three consecutive games.

Vilonia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Parkview, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coming up, Vilonia will head out to take on Valley View at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkview, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against ESTEM at 4:30 p.m. The Patriots are facing the Mets at the right time seeing as the Mets are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
