FORT MEADE, Md. -
Meade (Fort Meade, Md.) grabbed the lead when
Dj Pate threw a touchdown to
Tyree Turner with 9:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Broadneck (Annapolis, Md.) 26-20 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
The Mustangs led 9-7 at halftime, but the Bruins recaptured the lead on a touchdown run by
Doakota Siok with 5:00 left in the third.
By the end of the third, Meade found itself trailing by four points as Broadneck captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. BHS scored on a
Canaan Gebele touchdown run and a touchdown run by Siok in the quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Broadneck, which notched a 37-18 victory over Arundel in its previous outing.
In a Anne Arundel County game next week Meade (8-1) takes on Arundel, and Broadneck (7-2) will go up against Glen Burnie also in a Anne Arundel County game.
