After each having a week off, The Ashland Blue Jays and the Triplains/Brewster Titans will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ashland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five two weeks ago. They blew past Chetopa, posting a 61-6 win at home. Ashland's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
It was another big night for Landen McPhail, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Lathan McPhail, who threw for 85 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Triplains/Brewster brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Greeley County 39-7 on the road. The victory was just what Triplains/Brewster needed coming off of a 66-0 loss in their prior game.
Ashland's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51.67 points. As for Triplains/Brewster, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
