Salisbury Elk Lick has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
Salisbury Elk Lick found their leader in underclassman Lance Jones, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Walker Bunnell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Rockwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zander Ritenour, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ritenour has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Fazenbaker, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Rockwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Salisbury Elk Lick has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Rockwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Salisbury Elk Lick will head out on the road to challenge Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Shanksville Stonycreek will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Rockwood, Rockwood and Windber will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Windber presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rockwood in Pennsylvania (Windber is ranked 280th, while Rockwood is ranked 742nd).
