Twelve Bridges is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will challenge the Nevada Union Miners at 7:30 p.m. Twelve Bridges knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Nevada Union likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Twelve Bridges was able to grind out a solid victory over Destiny Christian Academy, taking the game 38-30. Given the Raging Rhinos' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Lions are ranked 256th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

09/12/25 @ Arroyo Grande | 173 |
08/22/25 @ Christian Brothers | 127 |
09/05/25 @ Whitney | 93 |

Twelve Bridges' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Wyhlidko, who rushed for 210 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Those 210 rushing yards gave Wyhlidko a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Connor Frontiera, who threw for 268 yards and three TDs.
Meanwhile, Nevada Union and Antioch were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Nevada Union suffered a 19-18 defeat. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Twelve Bridges will have to contain Rhyder Eelkema as he made an impact in Nevada Union's last game. He rushed for 143 yards and one score. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Eelkema posted at least 131 rushing yards in the fourth games prior.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 1.4 yards per carry. While three picked up at least eight total tackles, Daniel Demario stood above the rest. He forced one fumble, made eight total tackles, and defended one pass. Nevada Union's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.2.
Nevada Union now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Twelve Bridges, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Twelve Bridges has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 291.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Nevada Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 306.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Twelve Bridges against Nevada Union when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raging Rhinos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
