Mikey Williams and
Lake Norman Christian (Davidson, N.C.) headline the newest additions to the 2020 City of Palms Classic, according to a report from the
Fort Myers News-Press. Tournament director Donnie Wilkie quickly found six replacements for one of the marquee high school basketball tournaments after coronavirus and state obligations forced some teams from the venerable event.
Williams was recently ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2023, according to
247Sports. The 2019 MaxPreps Freshman of the Year averaged 29.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest.

Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah) and Lake Norman Christian replace Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, Fla.), Fenwick (Oak Park, Ill.), Fern Creek, (Louisville, Ky.), Kell (Marietta, Ga.), Northeast (Oakland Park, Fla.) and St. John's (Washington D.C.) in the 16-team field.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 18-23 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers.
