Oldenburg Academy came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Franklin County Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. Given the Twisters' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Wildcats are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ruby Singer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Singer is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madesyn Sunderhaus, who posted 11 points.

Oldenburg Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points per game. As for Franklin County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7.

Oldenburg Academy and Indianapolis Shortridge will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th. Indianapolis Shortridge will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Oldenburg Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Franklin County, they will take on Waldron in a tournament on Friday.
