The Cypress Ranch Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Cypress Falls by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Cypress Ranch has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anaiah White, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Duhon, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Cypress Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Falls only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Cypress Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raquel Hawk led the charge by scoring 16 points along with two steals. Dazlyn Mcclenon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Cypress Ranch's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 19-15. As for Cypress Falls, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-15.
Cypress Ranch will square off against Cypress Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cypress Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Cypress Falls, they will take on Bridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Bridgeland is ranked 314th, while Cypress Falls is ranked 337th).
