It was a good run, but the Arizona Cultural Academy Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-City Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arizona Cultural Academy has scored all season.
Loss or not, Arizona Cultural Academy got some senior leadership from Mahdy Abdeljaber who scored 20 points and Hasnsin Qazi who scored 18 points. Qazi scored a full 34.6% of Arizona Cultural Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tri-City Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Carnes, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 steals. The match was Carnes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fulvio Dos Santos, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds.
Arizona Cultural Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-1. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Arizona Cultural Academy will be playing at home against Telesis Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Telesis Prep is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Imagine Prep Coolidge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Imagine Prep Coolidge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
